Rajinder Singh Sandhu, MD

Dr. Sandhu is a board-certified psychiatrist with nearly 50 years of experience delivering comprehensive psychiatric care across inpatient, outpatient, and institutional settings. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Makerere University, Kampala, and completed his psychiatry residency training at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Henry Ford Hospital.

Dr. Sandhu came to Pittsburgh to complete a post-residency program in Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. Recognizing early the importance of patient-centered, individualized treatment, he founded Penn Psycare shortly after completing his training.

Since its founding, Penn Psycare has provided behavioral health and psychiatric services for concerns including depression, anxiety, bipolar and other mood disorders, PTSD, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders.
